HTC One Android 4.3 pre-release update leaked
A pre-release version of the HTC One Android 4.3 update has been leaked. The leak comes thanks to LlabTooFeR who has baked the latest Android 4.3 and Sense 5 features into his MaximusHD ROM for the HTC One. LlabTooFeR is promising to release an unaltered version of the HTC firmware on August 28. We first got wind of the update last week when Jason Mackenzie revealed that HTC is hoping to get the update rolled out to all North American variants of the HTC One before the end of September.
We do not know if this latest firmware includes all the features HTC plans to release with its Android 4.3 update for the HTC One. So far, the 3.09.401.1 update includes a new task manager, shortcut in the app drawer to the phone’s data manager, WiFi location triangulation (even when WiFi is toggled off) and smoother transition animations. The one stand-out new feature in the latest build is the ability for users to select their own music when creating Video Highlights within HTC’s gallery application. Video Highlights is one of our favorite features on the HTC One, so you can imagine how excited we are to know that the feature keeps improving every time the HTC One gets a new update.
We have no clue when HTC will start pushing out the Android 4.3 update to phones in Europe, but if Jason Mackenzie is to be believed, North American HTC One customers should be getting the update in less than five weeks.
HTC, don’t let us down.
